There are a lot of business opportunities on the net with promises of get rich quick. There are the sites that sell business opportunity books, all that claim they will make you a lot of money on the net. Many of them are books filled with nothing but general info. I have bought many of these books, as well as tried many software products, and tested many advertising methods. You can learn from my mistakes and save yourself a lot of valuable time. Don't get me wrong, there are some get rich quick books I purchased on the internet that had some good info, as many of my ideas have come from them. It's just that I couldn't find anything really complete that really took you by the hand and showed you how to create a turnkey money-making website. Then there are the TV guru's. If you have watched any late night cable TV programs at all you have probably seen the TV guru's who pitch their "Making Millions" type programs. Don Lapre is one of them. I first learned of Don Lapre when I saw his television commercial about four years ago. I must say Don Lapre knows how to put a lot of hype into his shows. Don Lapre is like most of the guys on TV. He will sell you his intro package for $39. Basically this just pays for his ads. Then a week or two after your initial purchase, you will get calls from his salespeople trying to get you to purchase his complete package which costs anywhere from $1,000 - $2,000. I purchased his $39 package. There is some useful info...for instance the hot newspaper listings were handy. However, for the most part, the info wasn't real practical advice for the average person to put into use. Don Lapre's package is broken down into different sections. One section is about how to make money with 900 numbers...which, by the way, he will try and sell you once you order his basic package. You should know that there is some very tough competition in the 900 numbers business arena with companies that have big ad budgets, so the chances of you making a killing here are slim to none. Another book by Don Lapre is about making money at government auctions. However, if you ever go to one of these auctions, you will find that there are a lot of bidders, and it is very rare to get a bargain basement price on anything. Unless you think that a 1982 office chair for $10 is something you think you can turn around and sell for big profits. Still another section is about buying items at garage sales, fixing them up and reselling them. Like you are going to spend all day doing that...right! Don Lapre also has a section on placing classified ads in local and national newspapers. However, he doesn't tell you specifically what product you should sell. He then says you are supposed to take the profits from your first ad and reinvest in more ads, and so on. This can work if you have a good product and know how to write good headlines, etc. However, without having a specific product it will be tough to make it work.
